Notifications
Read, open, and clear in-app notifications from the bell in the top bar — alerts, automations, weekly insights, and onboarding nudges.
When to use it — When you want to catch up on what changed while you were away, or jump straight to whatever a notification is about.
Where to find it — The bell icon (🔔) in the top bar, on every page.
Who can use it — Everyone with an account: Tracer, Weaver, and Luminary.
Celiq surfaces things that need your attention through a single bell in the top bar. Each notification has a type, a title, a short body, and — for most of them — a link that takes you to the right place when you click it. Unread items carry a red badge so you can see at a glance whether anything is waiting.
Overview
The bell lives in the top bar and shows a red badge with the number of unread notifications. The badge counts both your direct notifications and any new Orion insights; once the count passes nine it shows 9+.
Click the bell to open a panel listing your most recent notifications, newest first. Unread items have a tinted background and a small dot; read items appear plain. Each row shows a type icon, the title, an optional one-line body, and the time it was created. If a notification has a link, clicking the row marks it read and navigates you there. When Orion has new weekly insights, a dedicated insights row appears at the top of the panel with a View → shortcut to the Insights page.
The bell refreshes on its own every 30 seconds while you are signed in, so new notifications appear without a page reload.
When to use it
- You came back to Celiq and want a quick summary of what happened.
- An alert you set up may have fired and you want the details.
- An automation ran and you want to see its result or open the linked record.
- Orion has surfaced new weekly insights and you want to review them.
- You are new to the workspace and want the next setup step from an onboarding nudge.

Notification types
Celiq produces several kinds of notifications. You do not create these by hand — they come from features you have configured:

The panel renders four visual styles based on the row's icon mapping — info (ℹ), success (✓), warning (⚠), and error (✕) — each with its own color. Types that do not match one of these fall back to the info style.
Getting started
There is nothing to install or enable — the bell is always present in the top bar once you are signed in. To start receiving meaningful notifications, set up the features that produce them, such as a metric Alert or an automation built on Signals.
To open your notifications:
Find the bell
Look at the top bar on any page. The bell icon (🔔) sits in the top-right chrome.
Check the badge
A red badge means you have unread items. The number is your unread count (shown as 9+ above nine).
Open the panel
Click the bell. A panel drops down listing your recent notifications, newest first.
Step-by-step
Open the notifications panel
Click the bell (🔔) in the top bar. The panel shows up to your 50 most recent notifications.
Scan for unread items
Unread notifications have a tinted background and a small dot on the right. The header shows a Mark all read action whenever you have unread items.
Open a notification
Click any row. If it has a link, Celiq marks it read and takes you straight to the relevant page (for example, an insight opens the Insights page). The panel closes after you navigate.
Mark one as read without leaving
Clicking a row always marks it read. For a row with no link, the click simply clears the unread state and keeps you where you are.
Clear everything
Click Mark all read in the panel header to mark every unread item read at once. The badge clears.
Review the Orion insights shortcut
If Orion has new weekly insights, an insights row appears at the top of the panel with a count and, when present, a critical count. Click View → to open the Insights page.
Examples
A metric alert is the most common source of a notification. When you set up an alert in Alerts and it triggers, Celiq writes an in-app notification like the one below and it appears under the bell:

2 minutes agoBecause this is an alert, it renders with the warning icon and color. Opening the row marks it read. The badge on the bell drops by one — or clears entirely if it was your last unread item.
Best practices
- Skim the bell when you sign in. A quick glance at the badge tells you whether anything needs attention.
- Click through links rather than just reading titles — the link lands you on the exact metric, insight, or record the notification is about.
- Use Mark all read to reset after you have triaged, so the badge stays meaningful.
- Treat notifications as a prompt to act, not as a permanent archive. The panel keeps your most recent items, not your full history.
Tips
The badge combines two things: your direct notifications and new Orion insights. If the badge stays lit after you clear notifications, you likely have unread weekly insights — open the insights row at the top of the panel and click View →.
Common mistakes
- Expecting a long history. The panel shows your most recent 50 notifications, newest first — it is not a complete log of everything that ever happened.
- Assuming every row is clickable. Notifications without a link do not navigate; clicking them only marks them read.
- Confusing insights with notifications. The highlighted insights row at the top is a shortcut to the Insights page, separate from the individual notification rows below it.
Troubleshooting
