Tip
Goal: Set a Mosaic's visibility, copy a share link to the exact filtered view, and understand how each viewer's results are scoped.
Time: ~5 minutes
You'll need: A Mosaic you can edit and at least one teammate to share with
Role: Weaver or Luminary (publishing a Mosaic requires the Weaver role or above)

A new Mosaic is Private (Draft) โ€” only you can see it. This tutorial walks through publishing it to your team, copying a link to the exact filtered view you're looking at, and understanding why two viewers can open the same dashboard and correctly see different numbers.

Before you start

  • Have a Mosaic ready to share. See Mosaics.
  • Confirm you have the Weaver or Luminary role to change visibility and publish.
  • Skim Sharing and access for how Vault access and share links differ.

Steps

1

Set the global view you want to share

Open the Mosaic and use the Filters toolbar to set the global date, frame (time grain), comparison, and any dimension filters. The share link captures whatever view you're looking at, so get it right first.

2

Set the Mosaic's visibility

Open the โ‹ฏ menu (or the mosaic's card menu on the /mosaics list) and set Visibility. Choose Private (Draft) to keep it personal, Team so colleagues can find it, or Public for everyone in the workspace. The list page shows this as a Draft / Team / Public status badge.

3

Copy a share link to the exact filtered view

Click ๐Ÿ”— Share in the title row to copy a link to the exact filtered view you're looking at. Paste it into Slack, email, or a doc.

4

Grant standing access if it's ongoing

A share link points at one item; it does not grant access to the Vault around it. For ongoing access, open Vaults โ†’ (the vault) โ†’ Manage Access and add the person โ€” or a whole role like "All Tracers" โ€” at View, Edit, or Full. Granting a role means future hires inherit access automatically.

5

Understand how each viewer's data is scoped

Every tile traces back to a Reveal in the semantic layer, so each tile enforces Data Keys and Data Gates using the viewer's permissions when the tile runs. A Tracer with restricted row access and a Luminary can open the same Mosaic and correctly see different results โ€” you don't share a snapshot, you share a live, governed view.

Result

Teammates with the right access can now find the Mosaic (if you set Team or Public) or open your share link directly. Each viewer sees data scoped to their own Data Keys and Data Gates โ€” the share link is an entry point, not an anonymous data export, so recipients still sign in to view the live result.
